Reconciling the isotope-based fog classification with meteorological conditions of different fog types

چکیده
Although fog is an important component of the hydrological cycle drylands, its formation mechanisms are not fully understood leading to discrepancy type classifications using different methodologies. Such discrepancies may result in under or over estimation potential impacts global climate change on ecohydrology dependent ecosystems. To fill this knowledge gap, study applies hydrogen and oxygen stable isotopes objectively classify compares classification meteorological conditions defined for these types. Results suggest that isotope based method consistent with expected types such as radiation fog, advection mixed fog. Wind speeds decreased from advection, while estimated (cloud) height was lowest during highest In addition, precipitation-offset (lc-excess) suggests had moisture sources, being locally sourced originating ocean. This isotope-based objective could be applied other coastal ecosystems help assess impact

Fog Mesh Studies for Fog Removal
Field tests concerning a fog mesh method for fog removal are discussed. The first tests were performed at the Pyhäsalmi Mine, Finland. As this study gave promising results, further studies were completed at the Orivesi Mine. The results of these most recent field tests are presented and the two studies are compared. The Orivesi test set consisted of four materials. These included air filter fab...

Recent results of the ALADIN collaboration are reviewed. Fragment multi-plicities and correlations are found to be invariant with respect to a change of the target mass or the beam energy when plotted as a function of Z bound. The dependence of the fragment multiplicity on the projectile mass follows a linear scaling law. For Au+Au reactions at E/A=600 MeV, the mass and the excita-tion energy o...

T he Internet has witnessed two radical changes in the past decade: rapidly growing cloud computing and pervasive mobile devices. Motivated by these two trends, a plethora of research has been conducted to support mobile cloud computing, which bridges the cloud and mobile devices by leveraging both the powerful computing capability of the cloud and the mobility support of mobile devices. Much o...
متن کاملFog Data: Enhancing Telehealth Big Data Through Fog Computing
The size of multi-modal, heterogeneous data collected through various sensors is growing exponentially. It demands intelligent data reduction, data mining and analytics at edge devices. Data compression can reduce the network bandwidth and transmission power consumed by edge devices. This paper proposes, validates and evaluates Fog Data, a service-oriented architecture for Fog computing. The ce...

As billions of devices get connected to the Internet, it will not be sustainable to use the cloud as a centralised server. The way forward is to decentralise computations away from the cloud towards the edge of the network closer to the user. This reduces the latency of communication between a user device and the cloud, and is the premise of ‘fog computing’ defined in this paper. The aim of thi...
